About CCL

High quality isn’t one of the options we offer, it’s the only option we offer. It’s etched into our products and coated onto our services. Most importantly, it’s the only type of interaction we are capable of having with members of our community. You supply us with your challenges and we’ll lay out quality solutions.

It’s that simple.

1958 – Sam and Ruth Hurvitz purchased the Cape Cod Wrecking and Salvage Company, located on Route 18 in Abington. During this time the business was focused on the re-sale of salvaged building materials. We would pull nails out of used lumber, clean it up and re-sell it.

1965- Eliminated salvaged material. Moved to all new product. Re-named the business to Cape Cod Lumber Company.

1972 – Harvey Hurvitz started working at CCL full time. Later became shareholder partner with Sam.

1985 –Sam Hurvitz retires. Harvey purchases balance of CCL stock from Sam.

1997 – Our location on 18 was busting at the seams. There was not enough capacity to do what we were doing. We needed a second location to continue growing the business at the pace we were moving so at this time we purchased the Mansfield location.

2010 – Closed Mansfield location. At this time CCL was seeking a larger location that was local to Abington so we could have the entire company in one place.

2012 – Purchased the land on Groveland Street in Abington. This would eventually become the current CCL Campus.

2013 – Moved lumberyard to Groveland Street

2014 – Harvey decided to start the process of making CCL and employee-owned company.

2015 – CCL HomeScapes was relocated to Groveland Street.

2015 – First distribution made to Employee Stock Ownership Program

2021 – CCL becomes 100% employee owned.
